He stays on the field often because he can block and catch, which no doubt pleases head coach Todd Haley who likes players that can do multiple things.
That hasn't been the case. Moeaki caught two touchdowns in the first three games of the season and at the halfway point leads the Chiefs in receptions. He's become a favorite (and reliable) target of QB [link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u] with a team-high 30 receptions along with 344 yards receiving.
Kudos to Tony Moeaki, you first half rookie MVP.
I'll admit it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], when the Chiefs brought him in I had very low expectations. They said he had good hands and excelled at blocking. I figured it would take a while before he became part of the passing game which would make it a relatively boring rookie campaign.
The Kansas City Chiefs rookie MVP, like the defensive award, had plenty of good options. In the end the voters chose TE Tony Moeaki (59 percent) over S Eric Berry (22 percent) and WR Dexter McCluster (14 percent). Moeaki is very deserving of this award as he's been a somewhat surprising but productive part of the Chiefs offense. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u]
An average game for Moeaki is just under four catches for 43 yards. He's been a big part of the Chiefs impressive rookie class. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u]
