Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry to perform at Grammy

The Grammys are now only a month away and the awards show has begun announcing which artists will perform on what some consider to be music’s biggest night. According to MTV News, Eminem will be taking the stage at the 53rd annual Grammys, which is fitting as the rapper is nominated in ten categories for his recent album Recovery. It’s unclear which track he will perform but our money is on “Love the Way You Lie.”

Other performers include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Cee-Lo Green, Miranda Lambert and Arcade Fire. That’s right, Arcade Fire. This will mark both the Canadian indie rock band and Lambert’s debut appearances on the Grammy stage, while the other three artists have previously appeared. Lady Gaga has six nominations, Green and Perry each have four and Arcade Fire and Lambert have three respectively.

Arcade Fire have been nominated in the past, but this year it seems like they have a legitimate shot at winning for Best Alternative Album. Singer Win Bulter told Canadian news site CBC News, “We get a chuckle out of it as a band because it’s so surreal. We went to the Grammys five years ago. It’s not our world, but it’s fun to be there.”

Lady Gaga will likely perform her new single, “Born This Way,” which is being released the same day as the Grammys. The pop star was already speculated to be a performer when her choreographer, Laurieann Gibson, hinted earlier this week via twitter that she was working on Gaga’s performance. Hopefully Gaga wears something truly mind-blowing to the event— like say, a dress made of live bees and a hive hat.

The Grammys will take place on Sunday February 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and air at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. More performers are expected to be announced in the near future.
