r>Many people are somewhat intimidated by poetry but it doesn't have to be complicated. One of the reasons why people are intimidated by poetry is that they have a preconceived notion that poetry is innately difficult to write and to understand but this is simply not true. Another reason that many people shy away from writing poetry is because they think that poems have to rhyme and follow a complex rhythmic patterns but this again just isn't true. Poetry that comes from the heart is beautiful even if it doesn't follow conventional language guidelines. The following tips will help you to write poetry that represents your true feelings.
Perhaps the most important aspect of poetry is to write about a subject that you know well. Trying to write a poem about skydiving when you have never skydived and have no interest in every trying can be extremely difficult. However, an avid rock climber who loves the sport might find that poetry about his chosen sport comes naturally. When you are writing about a subject that you have a great deal of knowledge about and that you are passionate about, it will show through in your poetry.

The best way to write an effective poem is to ignore the conventional rules.
