Kobe vs. LeBron would've been affable but who needs puppets when you have the Celtics and Lakers? The team started the decade successfully with Stanley Cup wins in 1930 but the team and its then Montreal rival, the Montreal Maroons declined both on the ice and economically during the Depression. Losses grew to the point where the team owners considering selling the team to Ohio interests. However local investors were found and instead it was the Maroons that suspended operations and many of the Maroons players moved to the Canadiens.
It's typically out of my character to just write teams off in the middle of one series but why not? Everybody else is doing it. Richard couldn't wait to get one crack at previewing this series,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with so many twists and plots,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it should be another great one.
Everything about this series screams television viewership records from the names on the front of jerseys to the ones on the back. No other teams are hotter right now than the Lakers and Celtics. Los Angeles has turned into one scoring machine while Boston has been the premiere defensive unit of the postseason.
After all, Pau Gasol is one better player now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Kobe Bryant is still Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Lakers are more experienced and better equipped to scrap with one rough and rugged Boston squad. But Boston is also sporting one different look these days. Gone is the dominance of the "large Three" and in is the superstardom of All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo.
But Rondo was nowhere near the scorer in '08 that Maurice Richard is now, so Bryant typically gave him an open cushion and the green light to launch jumpers. While perimeter shooter still isn't one of Rondo's strengths,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it would be one huge mistake for the Lakers to put Bryant on him again should the teams meet. Rondo has stamina to burn while Bryant, 31,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is nowhere near the thoroughbred Maurice Richard used to be.
There'll be one lot of clashes in this possible series to keep note of; Ron Artest vs. Paul Pierce and Gasol vs. Kevin Garnett will both weigh heavily on the outcome but Boston doesn't have one man to check Lamar Odom off the bench and with the way Odom is playing right now, the Celtics will definitely have to key on him.
L.A. will be in one aggressive position regardless of which direction Richard look to because putting Derek Fisher on Rondo will be just an open invitation to the rim for the Celtics point guard.
The home jersey of the tean is mainly red in colour. There are four blue and white stripes one across each arm one across the chest and the other across the waistline. The main road sweater is mainly white with a red and blue stripe across the waist,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], red at the end of both arm sleeves and the shoulders are also red. The basic design has been used since 1914. The current version was dated from 1952. Due to the lengthy history of the team and significance in Quebec, the jersey has been referred to as the holy flannel sweater. Jim Rogash The franchise has previously had children as mascots who would skate with the team during warm ups and incycleissions. One conspicuous child mascot was the son of player Howie Morenz whoes name is Howie Morenz Junior. Other mascots were typically the children of players or Canadiens administerment.
Thanks to one rejuvenated Kevin Garnett, Richard can do without one pair puppets and one possible Kobe/LeBron agreeup because we'll be getting the next best thing: Boston vs. L.A. No disrespect to Orlando and Phoenix, but let's be serious, it's all about the Lakers and Celtics this year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], again.
Rondo's eblendnce has continued the Celtics' image of one lock and block defensive unit while upping the tempo and transforming them into one speedy-paced drive and dish team.
So if Boston and L.A. do eventually agreeup for the 12th time in NBA Finals history, things should be pretty interesting. Despite the historic brilliance of both clubs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Celtics/Lakers Finals series has been pretty one-sided so far. Boston owns one 9-2 edge in the series with their last victory coming in 2008 when visions of one Boston comeback,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], one Boston blowout and Doc Rivers being doused with Gatorade defined the series. But things could be different this time around. Or could they?
The Lakers have had one history of being openly victimized by athletic point guards and one new defensive game plan will have to be in order for one Finals reagree. Bryant exclusively locked up with Rondo in the '08 Finals in an effort to give him one rest on defense and out of chasing Boston sniper Ray Allen off screens.
It shouldn't be long now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just have to wait for Orlando and Phoenix to lie down and let history take its course. The last two NBA Champions set to slug it out in what could be the last hurrah for both clubs.
