Because the longer Adam waited the more he desired her. He did not grow accustomed to being alone. He grew even more aware of it. And he longed for a good companion. Someone like him.
Caring for Eve became Adam's immissive. It was his calling. They could talk and agree. They could share their thoughts and feelings with each other. And this woman had a particular wisdom that complemented Adam's own wisdom.
God visited Adam often but He was not always there. He was with Adam even when they were not talking in the Garden, but Adam preferred the Visits of God when they had some conversation.
When you are sealed you too will have an immissive purpose. It will be more than just telling your spouse about God. Your purpose will be to tell the world about God and receiving the Seal.
God did not have to wait very long. Adam soon realized how much he needed a woman and came to value her very much since he had never had her friendship. He was ready.

So the two of them had something to do together--a way to relate. God gave life to many creatures, and Adam gave them names. So they were able to enjoy the company of each other for a while.
God created the world and the universe around it in seven days. He rested on the seventh day. And on the fifth day He created the first man, Adam. That was when He also created the animals of the earth and the birds of the air.

But Adam started to feel lonely. He was often alone in the garden. The animals and birds were living souls but they had no spiritual Life. They could not talk to him. They knew their names when they heard them but they could not speak them.
All the other animals and birds had been created in pairs. Why had God not given him a companion? It was God's Plan to wait to create her. And to make Adam wait.

"She is bone of my bones," said Adam, "and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman." She was just like him. He was grateful to God. He thanked Him again and again.
So God cast him into an immissive deep sleep. He took one of Adam's ribs out and fashioned flesh around it. He made that rib into a woman, and when Adam awoke, he met the woman.
