Revis is so good that you barely notice him on gameday. Matthew Stafford didn't even test Revis, instead spreading the ball around to anyone and everyone else. Stafford played a hell of a game until he injured his shoulder, but the Lions offense sputtered after their opening drive touchdown.
When the dust settled, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] had his first career 300-yard passing game, the Jets wrestled away a victory from the jaws of defeat, and the Jets find themselves back on top of the AFC East with a 6-2 record.
The Jets go on the road in Week 10 to face the suddenly surging Cleveland Browns. The Browns have knocked off New Orleans and New England in consecutive games. No doubt the Jets will come to play against Eric Mangini's Browns, who also feature Rex Ryan's twin brother Rob as their defensive coordinator.
Gameballs go to Darrelle Revis, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Brandon Moore and Nick Folk.
He made the Detroit Lions' top target a complete non-factor in the Jets comeback victory.
Buckle up, Jets fans. It's gonna be a fun ride.
It's time for Brian Schottenheimer to figure out just exactly what he wants to do on offense. The running game is still being underutilized, especially bulldozing back Shonn Greene. There is NO reason for Greene to get less than 12-15 carries, no matter what. No exceptions. Too often, Schottenheimer gets too cute with his playcalling, especially with the short passing game.
NFL: New York Jets Come From Behind Thanks To [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and Darrelle Revis
Johnson, whose nickname is Megatron, was invisible the entire game, completely lost on Revis Island. I guess that makes Revis Optimus Prime.
Whew.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was at his best late in the game, with the Jets down 10 points with a little over four minutes remaining. He dominated the Lions in the hurry-up offense, leading the Jets to two late scoring drives to force overtime. He then wasted no time driving down the field on the Jets first possession of overtime, never letting the Lions touch the ball again.
Is there any doubt that all-world cornerback Darrelle Revis is 100 percent heathy and back to his dominant self? Revis shadowed superstar receiver Calvin Johnson and held him to one catch on a quick slant in the first quarter, and nothing else. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
He's baaaaaaaaack.
Speaking of sputtering offenses, the Jets went nearly six quarters without a touchdown until [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] threw a beautiful 74-yard touchdown strike to Braylon Edwards on a pass that went about 65 yards in the air.
Rex Ryan gave Detroit native Vernon Gholston the start at defensive end as a nice gesture. He didn't record a tackle,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but his fellow Detroiters David Harris, Bart Scott and Braylon Edwards picked him up in front of their hometown crowd.
Speaking of that article I wrote Saturday, HUGE credit to Brandon Moore for making Ndamukong Suh as quiet as Calvin Johnson was. He proved again why Rex Ryan calls him the best guard in the NFL. Suh's only noteworthy play was his missed extra point attempt after Lions kicker Jason Hanson came out with injury. That one point proved to be crucial.
