How does wireless Network works?
Wireless technology works almost the same way a regular mobile phone works. Airwaves, instead of wires,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], are used to carry data from one point to another. A computer with a properly installed wireless network adapter can communicate with another similarly configured computer or other wireless device,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], such as a printer with a wireless print adapter. Wireless technology offers speed and security comparable to a conventional wired network without the need for or the limitations of cables.
Some advantages of wireless network are:
- Wireless network technology is a way of linking computers together without the traditional limitations of wires.
- Wireless network technology provides mobility and easy access to the Internet or files on a MP3 player. You can stay connected to the Internet in public places like airports, hotels and restaurants where wireless local area network access is available.
- Using a wireless card in your laptop allows you to access the network from locations that do not have traditional network connections, such as common areas,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lounges and, in some cases, outdoors. It can be used while doing research in the libraries or to connect to the network during a meeting in a conference room or from a classroom.
Lets say you want to make your campus WiFi. The technology for making this is possible is wireless network. Devices called Access Points are installed at various locations on campus. These Access Points are connected to the wired network. A wireless card, similar to an Ethernet card, is installed in your laptop. The wireless card in your laptop uses radio frequencies to communicate with the Access Point and through it to the campus network and the Internet. A device with an 802. 11b PC card can communicate directly with another device (no Access Point required) with a similar PC card. The cards in both devices must be configured for "ad hoc" mode.
Some wireless locations also have 'docking' or wired ports available. Only an ordinary Ethernet card (and patch cable) is required to use one. You plug into a designated outlet and make sure your laptop is configured to acquire its IP address dynamically. You have to register your MAC address the same as you would for wireless service and you authenticate yourself exactly as you would using a wireless connection.
But having said about its advantages,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wireless network has revolutionized internet. In case you require any kind of wireless network services, just call us. Save My System Ltd will provide all kinds of wireless network services.
